4 Hobart Place is a three-storey Grade II listed terraced house in Belgravia, London SW1.
German composer Felix Mendelssohn stayed here during his visits to London. Blue plaque, unveiled in 2013, on the building says: Felix Mendelssohn 1809-1847 Composer stayed here.
According to English Heritage, Mendelssohn stayed at the home of the Hanoverian embassy secretary, Karl Klingemann. It was from number here that he left to dine with Isambard Kingdom Brunel and Charles Dickens. During his stay he also performed to Queen Victoria and Prince Albert in 1842. [1]
