St James’s Market, a new 260,000 sq. ft. commercial development between Haymarket and Regent Street St James’s comprises 210,000 sq. ft. of new, modern office accommodation, alongside six flagship retail stores for best in class lifestyle and fashion, and seven new restaurants, all set within over half an acre of revitalised public spaces, including a new public square.

2017 June - TowerBrook Capital Partners, a London and New York-based investment firm, announced to be moving its UK headquarters to St James’s Market.

2016 March - Jigsaw will open a new West End Emporium bespoke to St James's offering its full range of premium men's and women's clothing and accessories. This new concept store, at around 3, 000 sq ft of trading space, follows on from a menswear focused pop up with The Crown Estate on Jermyn Street last year, and will include 1,000 sq ft for its sister brand, The Shop at Bluebird.
- Leading Michelin-two-starred Nordic restaurant, Aquavit, based in New York, will open its first European place here.

Neapolitan influenced pizzeria ‘O ver is set open at St James's Market later this year.

‘O ver, which is expanding to St James’s following its successful launch at Borough Market in 2016, will offer authentic Neapolitan food with a contemporary twist, under Head Chef Santo Petrone.

The new ‘Over restaurant joins international acclaimed Nordic restaurant Aquavit which earned a Michelin star in 2017, and West African influenced Ikoyi, which earned a Michelin star in 2018; as well as Duck and Waffle Local and the recently launched Scully, the first solo venture from Ramael Scully the former head chef of Ottolenghi’s NOPI.

TowerBrook Capital Partners, a London and New York-based investment firm, is moving its UK headquarters to St James’s Market, reports The Crown Estate.

With this latest deal, St James’s Market is now three quarters (75%) let. TowerBrook Capital Partners will take 16,500 sq. ft. on the third floor of 1 St James’s Market. Simon Korn Commercial Property Consultants acted for TowerBrook.

The signing of TowerBrook Capital Partners follows last month’s announcement that two international firms, including energy company SOCAR Trading, are to locate their UK Headquarters at 2 St James’s Market.

St James’s Market is now almost 2/3 (68%) let, following agreements with a further two new office occupiers.

The two international firms, which include energy company SOCAR Trading, will locate their UK Headquarters at 2 St James’s Market, taking the 6th and 7th floors.

Oliver Smith, Senior Asset Manager for the partnership commented: “We’re delighted to welcome another two international firms of such calibre to St James’s Market. Formula 1 will be relocating its global HQ to St James’s Market, reports The Crown Estate.

Formula 1 will be taking nearly 21,000 sq ft over the fourth and fifth floors in No 2 St James’s Market, joining The Carlyle Group and The Crown Estate, who will both be relocating their London HQ’s to St James’s Market this year.

Ikoyi is set to launch its first restaurant at St James’s Market, bringing Central London its first taste of Jollof Cuisine – an innovative approach using refined cooking techniques to cast a new lens on traditional West African flavours.

This deal completes the last of seven restaurant lettings at St James’s Market, where Ikoyi will join Nordic restaurant Aquavit, Danish bakery from Ole and Steen, Japanese Anzu, Salt Yard Group’s Veneta, and the new Duck and Waffle Local.

Ikoyi will be a first of a kind contemporary West African Restaurant located in central London where diners will be able to experience the bold heat and flavours of Nigeria, Senegal and beyond.

The new restaurant, born out of a friendship between Chef Jeremy Chan and Director Iré Hassan-Odukale, will be Ikoyi’s first permanent home, following a series of celebrated popups and residencies across London.

Aspinal of London, the British luxury leather goods brand, will open its flagship store at St James’s Market redevelopment later this year.

The ‘Home of Aspinal’ will be the brand’s largest store to date.

The new store will showcase Aspinal of London’s full collection of premium quality hand-crafted leather goods with a distinctly British style, and host its new launches and exclusive collaborations.

The store will be divided into rooms highlighting the ‘lifestyle journey’ of the Aspinal customer and offer the complete range of men’s and women’s products; including handbags, wallets and purses, business bags, office accessories and luggage.
Aspinal of London joins other leading lifestyle and retail brands at St James’s Market, including a bespoke emporium from British brand Jigsaw; the first UK stores for Paul and Shark Swiss cycling brand ASSOS; and a unique concept store from lifestyle brand Smeg.

Urban Tea Rooms will open a new flagship site at St James’s Market, reports Crown Estate.

It will bring its modern take on the traditional English tea room with smart all-day café dining, having firmly established itself as a favourite among local offices and shoppers in the West End. London coffee ‘Allpress’ and loose-leaf teas will be served to take-away or eat in, alongside the best in organic, British produce; including freshly-made salads, soups, sandwiches, handmade cakes and artisanal baking.

Urban Tea Rooms is the latest operator to join St James’s Market, which will have seven new restaurants in total.

Danish bakers Ole Kristoffersen and Steen Skallebæk are set to open their first restaurant outside of Denmark in the new St James’s Market development.

Ole & Steen’s restaurant will open in winter 2016.

The duo’s Lagkagehuset bakeries are hugely successful across Denmark with over 50 locations including several in Copenhagen. The London restaurant will offer all-day dining, including artisan breads freshly baked on the premises, cakes, pastries, Scandinavian flatbreads, soups, stews, salads and luxury sandwiches. The menu will also include single estate coffee and a small but carefully crafted wine and beer list.

Leading Michelin-two-starred Nordic restaurant, Aquavit, based in New York, will open its first European offering in The Crown Estate and Oxford Properties’ £400m St James’s Market redevelopment later this year.

Aquavit’s new restaurant will be offering a more informal and contemporary Nordic cuisine for all-day dining. The menu will be overseen by Michelin two Starred Executive Chef, Emma Bengtsson, and it will offer distinctly Nordic flavours. The food will be light and modern with a focus on high quality presentation, matched with the very best in modern Scandinavian interior design.

In addition to being the first restaurant announced for St James’s Market, it will also be largest at 9,000 sq ft with double-height ceilings, creating a flagship destination restaurant for this landmark scheme.

Aquavit joins leading fashion and lifestyle retail brands confirmed earlier this year for St James’s Market, including premier Swedish cycling brand Assos and iconic design and lifestyle brand SMEG.
