The house was built in 1717 on the land of King Henry VIII Manor House in Chelsea. The private residence was extensively altered in 1867.
The blue plaque on front elevation reads:
Thomas Attwood 1765-1838 composer and organist at St Paul's Cathedral and the Chapel Royal lived and died here.
