Communications House
Key Details
Overview
Communications House or LSQ is a mixed-use building from the 1920s overlooking Leicester Square, London W1.
The building was reconstructed by the designs of Make Architects in 2016. The interior and upper parts of the building were extensively redeveloped by adding a new core, new floor plates, a new upper storey of accommodation and a new roof.
The ground floor was reconfigured to accommodate high-end retail provision and premium outdoor dining space that positively engages with the currently under-utilised streetscape. Seven floors of office accommodation were upgraded to comply with modern standards and a clearly defined office entrance added. An elegant new curved roof encloses the upper floors, offering a unique twenty-first-century interpretation of the traditional London mansard style.
The building is just moments from Piccadilly Circus and Leicester Square underground stations.
