For a brief moment in London's storied history, The Lookout stands as the sentinel of the city.

Perched on level 50 of 8 Bishopsgate, this just-opened public viewing gallery currently claims the title of the highest in the City of London.

In the photograph above, a tale of eras unfolds. Tower 42, once the paragon of 1980’s innovation and ambition, is now a gentle nod to yesteryears from The Lookout's elevated 50th-floor perspective.

Yet, as in any great city, London's narrative is one of change. To the right, the silhouette of 22 Bishopsgate hints at the impending future. In exactly one month's time, Horizon 22 will open, offering a fresh perspective from level 58.

For now, though, the moment belongs to The Lookout.
