Berkeley Homes has announced that Marks & Spencer will be joining its Royal Arsenal Riverside development.
Marks & Spencer, founded in 1884, has grown from a single market stall to an international, multi-channel retailer serving millions of customers its innovative food products each week. Located at Cadet House, Mark & Spencer will offer even more choice for residents and commuters using the forthcoming Woolwich Arsenal Crossrail station and will join other well-known supermarket brands such as Sainsbury's and Tesco on the Royal Arsenal Riverside development.

Cllr Denise Hyland, Leader of the Royal Borough of Greenwich, said: "We shared the disappointment of local residents when Marks & Spencer departed Woolwich town centre 18 months ago, and have kept in close contact with the company since then. News that they are to return so soon is a clear sign that they recognise that Woolwich is growing and developing - with the Crossrail link acting as a key driving force in that growth."

After completion, Royal Arsenal Riverside will provide 5,000 new homes and restaurants, bars, shops and leisure facilities including a gym, new pubs, restaurants and a four-acre public park. Historic conversions and contemporary new homes are set between parks, wide avenues, public squares and the River Thames.
Further spaces for commercial occupiers and cultural facilities will be available in the later phases of the development.
