The switch to two-way working on Baker Street and Gloucester Place will take place from 21-24 February 2019.
By reintroducing two-way traffic on the two busy streets and significant improvements to the public realm, the project will make the whole area more pedestrian friendly and accessible and restore the unique Marylebone character.
The completed project will offer new benefits:
– wider pavements
– improvements to 50 road crossings
– reduced street clutter
– improved street lighting
– 23 new, fully grown, trees
– improved cycle lanes, and new cycle parking,
– a simpler bus network
– shorter, more direct car journeys.
Team: Westminster City Council, in partnership with Transport for London, Baker Street Quarter Partnership and The Portman Estate.
