Overview
Cambridge Road development on the site of the former Gloucester House and Durham Court buildings in South-Kilburn, London NW6. Completed in 2021.
The scheme comprises 235 new homes of which 123 new are open market homes, 102 affordable social rent homes and 10 shared equity homes in buildings ranging from four to eight storeys.
Basement car parking with 90 car spaces with 24 being disabled parking and 20% having electric car charging points available, with provision for a further 20% in the future. 302 secure cycle parking spaces.
The scheme has been designed by Fielden Clegg Bradley Studios working with Alison Brooks Architects, Gort Scott Architects and Grant Associates.
The gross development value of the scheme is expected to be circa £95 million.
Timeline
2017 - Telford Homes commenced work.
2014 - Planning permission granted for the demolition of 209 existing dwellings and garages at Gloucester House and Durham Court and erection of 4-8 storey blocks comprising of 236 flats (134 private and 102 affordable (social rent)), an energy centre for the South Kilburn Neighbourhood Decentralised Heating System, basement car-park, associated landscaping and general amenity space, provision of replacement public play space and stopping up of existing public footpath between Cambridge Road and Kilburn Park Road.
