JTRE London acquires £400m leasehold for 220 Blackfriars Road development

JTRE London has acquired a long leasehold for the £400 million mixed-use development at 220 Blackfriars Road in partnership with Southwark Charities.


The project includes a 21-storey office building with 219,000 sq. ft. of grade A offices and a 15-storey tower with 62 Almshouses, gardens, a charity hub, and a community hall.


The development aims to provide affordable residential homes on valuable London real estate. The acquisition boosts JTRE London's portfolio to nearly £1 billion, showcasing the company's rapid growth.


The project, designed by Fathom Architects, emphasizes environmental, social, and governance (ESG) principles, with offices targeting Net Zero Carbon and WELL Gold Building standards.


The development also involves the demolition of the existing almshouse, Edward Edwards House, beginning in March 2024.


The project follows JTRE London's successful completion of Appleby Blue and Triptych Bankside nearby.
