Higgins Construction plc has been appointed by Southern Housing Group to design and build phase two of the construction of new homes at Bow River Village.
Phase two will deliver 112 new homes, of which 35% will be affordable. The homes will have views of the River Lea. The riverside walk will also be revitalised and new public realm will be created for the local community to enjoy.
Steve Leakey, Managing Director of Higgins Construction commented: “Following our successful partnership with Southern Housing Group to deliver phase one, we are delighted to be awarded phase two at Bow River Village and continue to be part of such an important project for East London. Work is already underway on the £26 million contract with completion due Spring 2018.”
Higgins Construction worked closely with Southern Housing Group’s private sale subsidiary, Southern Space to deliver 219 homes and 10,000 square feet of commercial space in phase one. These included a mixture of tenures including affordable rent, shared ownership, open market sale and market rent properties.
