Clarion Housing Group will help to deliver 229 homes at St William’s Prince of Wales Drive scheme in Battersea, which is the first of the proposed redundant brownfield sites to be delivered to by St William.

Prince of Wales Drive replaces four decommissioned gasholders and will have 161 homes for shared ownership and 68 homes for intermediate rent. The site occupies a key position between Battersea Park and the new town centre now being built at Battersea Power Station.

Construction work at Prince of Wales Drive is already well underway and the first affordable homes are expected to be ready by summer 2019.

Philip Browne, New Business and Partnerships Director for Clarion Housing Group commented: “We are excited to be part of this ambitious and innovative project which is breathing life back into disused industrial sites across London and the south east.

“There is an acute shortage in the supply of affordable homes, particularly in the capital, so we are also pleased to be working with St William for the first time to deliver homes for buyers who are struggling to buy outright.”

Alison Dowsett, Managing Director at St William added: “This is a really exciting time for us – not only is Prince of Wales Drive our first St William development to be delivered – we are also delighted to be a part of delivering much needed housing in Zone 1.”
