Marchesi 1824 – the historic Milanese pastry shop founded in 1824 – will expand internationally and has selected Mount Street to open its first store outside of Italy.

The Pasticceria Marchesi, which Prada Group bought the majority share in 2014, will open at 117 Mount Street and encompass a pastry counter, bakery and café, offering freshly baked pastries, cakes, biscuits and sweets, as well as the finest chocolates and traditional Italian ice-cream. The terms of the lease are not disclosed, reports Grosvenor Britain & Ireland.

Keith Bailey, Mayfair Director, Grosvenor Britain & Ireland, commented: “We are delighted to welcome Pasticceria Marchesi to Mount Street. This café and shop, a new amenity for locals and visitors, will grow the openness and appeal of our London estate. On top of that, Prada Group’s legacy and credentials chime perfectly with Mount Street’s boutiques, heritage brands and restaurants.”

Paul Souber, Co-head of UK Retail, Colliers International, said: “Prada’s choice to open Marchesi on Mount Street further demonstrates this area’s diverse shopping and dining scene and is testament to Grosvenor’s commitment to exceptional place making in this thriving part of the London. Shoppers will be able to pop in for a Milan-style coffee in between perusing London’s most stylist luxury fashion destinations.”

Colliers International acted on behalf of Grosvenor.
