Regency Heights tops out

21/01/2021 by Buildington

Fairview celebrated topping out of Regency Heights, part of the £26 billion regeneration at Park Royal and Old Oak Common.

The final section of concrete was laid on the roof of what will be the tallest tower at Regency Heights, some 90 metres above the ground.

The ceremony was attended by Darren McCormack, Group Sales & Marketing Director, Stephen Brown, Construction Director and Senior Project Manager, David Jones from Fairview New Homes.

Joining the Fairview team were Darren Parker, Director at L&Q, the affordable housing partner for Park Royal and Michael Brennan, Managing Director at Modebest, who supplied and fitted the reinforced concrete frames.

Darren McCormack, Sales & Marketing Director at Fairview New Homes, commented: “We were delighted to welcome Michael and Darren to the topping-out ceremony at Regency Heights. Once complete, Regency Heights will be a development of 807 new apartments.

“Since its launch in 2019, Regency Heights has proved popular with buyers, with more than 273 sold to date.”

“The pandemic this year has undoubtedly presented considerable challenges to the project team, so we’re thrilled to have reached this significant milestone. Regency Heights stands tall and proud at the heart of what is the UK’s largest regeneration project.”

Fairview recently announced that leading convenience retailer, the Co-op, has signed a new lease, taking 4,015 sq ft of commercial space at the development marking the first wave of commercial leasing.

Co-op will occupy Units 4 and 5 of six new commercial units and will source 100% renewable electricity to run its store and provide a funding boost for local causes through its Membership scheme.

The new Co-op store will be part of the final phase of construction at Regency Heights and is expected to open in December 2021 and will create around 15 new jobs. Further details on the commercial provision will be announced in the coming weeks.

It has been a year of highs for Regency Heights, with Site Manager, Jan De Goede, receiving a Quality accolade from the NHBC Pride in the Job Awards earlier in the year.

Planning permission for the regeneration, which is being managed by the Old Oak Park Royal Development Corporation (OPDC), was granted in October 2017 and there has been significant progress on the ground since then. The revitalisation looks set to transform the Old Oak Common Rail Depot into a major interchange station, with Crossrail, Great Western and HS2 services eventually being available.

The development is well-connected with Park Royal Underground Station just a 7-minute walk away and Hangar Lane Underground Station 9 minutes away on foot. Apartments at the development are available to purchase with the London Help to Buy scheme.

Studios, 1, 2 and 3 bedroom apartments & 2 bedroom maisonettes are available for sale.

Help to Buy 2 will be available on selected homes.
