The enabling works at Chrisp Street are set to start in Summer 2021. These works will include preparing the new traders underground car park on Saracen Street/Hind Grove and is expected to take 4 – 6 months.

Once the enabling works are complete, the garages on Kerbey Street to be demolished along with Aurora and Clarissa Houses and the former Poplar Boys & Girls Club on Cordelia Street, making way for new shops ready for occupation in three years.

On the current programme, the demolition of the garages and other buildings will begin at the end of 2021, with construction starting in 2022. The first new homes ready for occupation will be on Kerbey Street about 2 years later, these will be 3 and 4 bedroom duplex apartments for social rent.
