The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development EBRD has officially moved its London headquarters from One Exchange Square in the City of London to 5 Bank Street in Canary Wharf.

More than half of its 2,800 London-based staff have already relocated, with the remainder of the people to relocate by the end of October 2022.

The EBRD promotes open-market economies and the private sector in 36 countries across three continents and is owned by 71 counties as well as the European Union and the European Investment Bankannounced the planned move in May 2019.

Odile Renaud-Basso, President at EBRD, commented: “We are delighted to call Five Bank Street our new home. It is a truly world-class building, which provides the best facilities and working conditions for our staff and reflects the Bank’s commitment to sustainability and new ways of working.”

The shell and core of Five Bank Street has a BREEAM Outstanding accreditation, as well as an Environmental Performance Certificate (EPC) A rating, making it one of the most ecologically friendly workplaces in the UK. Aiming to cut waste and reflect the Bank's green objectives, the EBRD is also on track to receive an EPC A-rating and BREEAM Outstanding accreditation for the fit-out, design, and construction.
