Christian Candy’s CPC Group has entered into an option with The Wardens and the Commonalty of the Mistery of Fishmongers of the City of London (The Fishmongers’ Company) to acquire the freehold interest in Sugar Quay, London.

CPC acquired the long leasehold interest in Sugar Quay on 7th March 2012 with the intention of developing this prime office and retail site into high-end residential accommodation with an element of retail on the lower floors. Planning permission that enables CPC to carry out its development plans was granted on 16th September 2013 by the City of London.

Christian Candy (founder of CPC) said: “We are delighted to have reached agreement with the Fishmongers’ Company to acquire the freehold interest in Sugar Quay. This is an extremely exciting development project and it will transform the City of London’s residential offering. We will start the development activity shortly and we expect the building to be finished by late 2016.”

The 280,193 sq ft residential development located on the bank of the River Thames by Tower Bridge, will comprise 165 residential apartments across 11 storeys, a mixed use ground floor incorporating residential facilities and amenities, and a waterfront commercial unit.
