Leading specialist contractor McMullen Facades, part of the Lakesmere Group, has secured a £10.5m contract to provide the full vertical envelope for the West block at Tribeca Square.

Appointed by main contractor Laing O’Rourke for leading developer Delancey, in partnership with Oakmayne Properties, McMullen will be working on the West Tower of the scheme, providing the complete vertical envelope using a unitised system with bolt-on balconies, brise soleil and feature aluminium cladding. McMullen team will provide a ‘fast track’ installation to deliver most of the external facade works for the striking 23 storey tall tower within just 23 weeks, completing one floor per week on average. The speed and efficiency of McMullen’s installation programme will be aided by the off-site manufacture and robust quality control of the unitised panels in McMullen’s factory in Moira, Northern Ireland.

As an important part of the wider regeneration of Elephant & Castle, Tribeca Square is expected to be completed by 2016 and in addition to a significant number of private residential and student apartments, the development will also include a supermarket, cinema, retail and restaurants units. McMullen will commence work on site in August 2014.
