St George will be partnering with Peabody to deliver the first 70 affordable homes at its London Dock development. St George is converting Times House, the former Times magazine offices, into a mix of social and affordable rented family homes.

Work will commence in spring 2015, with the first residents moving in in late 2017.

Craig Carson, Managing Director of St George City, said: "This is an important milestone in the London Dock development. We are thrilled to be working with Peabody to deliver these fantastic new affordable family homes."

Stephen Howlett, Chief Executive of Peabody, said: "We are delighted to be working with St George on this exciting development. Peabody has over 150 years of experience in providing affordable homes in the capital and we look forward to being part of London Dock."

The 15-acre site will be transformed by St George into a mixed-use development incorporating new homes, offices, restaurants and shops. 486 of the 1,800 new homes will be affordable, with 274 affordable and social rented homes and 212 homes for first time buyers. Over half the development will be open space including six acres of public realm with two new squares, market gardens and a 375 metre promenade.
