Founded in 2011, the group is built upon the founding Ahluwalia family’s five decades of experience in founding and scaling fast-growing businesses. Dominvs Group is managed by a board of directors which combines highly experienced senior figures sourced from leading companies alongside directors from the Ahluwalia family who have between them over 40 years of combined real estate expertise. As of 2020 the Group’s core portfolio has over 1,000 residential homes to be delivered ranging from luxury apartments to masterplan developments. The group’s strategy is to further diversify into the residential market over the next five years which includes seeking real estate opportunities beyond its London heartland and looking at private residential, student, retirement, build-to-rent and joint venture opportunities around the UK, with Dominvs Group priding itself on its ambitious and long-term approach to investments, supporting bold projects that connect with customers and local communities in new and innovative ways.

Dominvs Group has appointed John Ko as its new Construction Director.

John joins Dominvs Group with immediate effect and in his new role will act as the Construction Director for large scale construction projects across the group.

John will be responsible for achieving the Group’s business targets of residential and geographical diversification and expansion in 2021 and beyond are met and exceeded. His expertise in project management, safety and environmental matters will help to deliver projects on time, on budget and within pre-established quality parameters.

John’s work as a Development Project Manager began with his role on the Sydney Organising Committee for the Olympic Games, where he was responsible for the development and construction of the 6,000 bed Media Village. Other major projects around this time included the demolition, refurbishment and opening of a 1.1m sq. ft. mixed-use retail centre in Sydney for Westfield Corporation and the KPMG Office Tower with integrated fit-out in Sydney, which later won the highest Green Star rating in Australia, on behalf of Brookfield Multiplex.

After his move to the UK with Brookfield Multiplex, John joined the £500 million Wembley National Stadium project as the Senior Project Manager. Then as the Head of Design for the UK business, John led the design management of the £570 million 1.8m sq. ft. New South Glasgow Hospital in Scotland and the 70-storey £580 million 22 Bishopsgate Tower in London as well as overseeing the mixed-use, residential and student accommodation projects.

John joined Goldman Sachs International in 2015 as the Senior Project Director responsible for the construction delivery of the £250 million bespoke 8,000 staff campus in Bangalore, India which achieved 12.5 million safe man-hours without lost-time injury together with LEED Platinum and WELL Gold sustainability ratings. John also worked on the new £400 million 6,500 staff ‘state of the art’ London campus as the Executive Director which was completed under budget and on time.
