Development Securities PLC, the leading property development and investment company, announced today the appointment of Nicholas Thomlinson as a Non-executive Director of the Company, with effect from 3 January 2012.

Nick is the Senior Partner of Knight Frank LLP. He joined Knight Frank after coming down from Oxford University, and spent 10 years in the City Office dealing with all aspects of commercial property, before going to Hong Kong to run the Knight Frank Office in 1984. On his return, he set up what was to be the first office in London Docklands of a major international practice. In 2000, he took over as Head of Global Residential and in 2004 was appointed Senior Partner and Chairman of the Knight Frank Group.

David Jenkins, Chairman of Development Securities PLC, commented:

"I am delighted that Nicholas has agreed to join the Board. He brings with him a wealth of property experience, which will add further to the expertise of our Board."

There is no further information required to be disclosed pursuant to paragraph 9.6.13R of the Listing Rules in respect of Mr Thomlinson.
