Bond Street buildings update May 2024 - Part I east side

27/05/2024 by Buildington

Last week, developer Great Portland Estates announced it has traded one of its assets on New Bond Street for a building on Tottenham Court Road.

You are probably just as curious as we are about how Britain's priciest retail street is doing, so we've snapped photos of every single building and shop to update our database.

New Bond Street was last ranked as the most expensive retail location in the world in 2019. According to Cushman & Wakefield's Main Streets Across the World, New Bond Street in London has been the 4th most expensive retail location globally (after Upper 5th Avenue in New York, Via Montenapoleone in Milan and Tsim Sha Tsui in Hong Kong) in the past few years, both 2022 and 2023. The rental rate last year was $1,462 per square foot per year, equivalent to €14,905 per square meter annually. The rental prices decreased by 11% from pre-pandemic levels in 2023.

The iconic thoroughfare is about 800 metres long and is divided into two sections. Old Bond Street, which runs from Piccadilly to Burlington Gardens, and New Bond Street, which extends from Burlington Gardens to Oxford Street.

This photo report is divided into two parts, with the first one covering every building on the east side of Old/New Bond Street as it was this Sunday 26th, May 2024. See also the west side Bond Street.

This side of the street has 57 buildings and 51 total unique shops. We started our overview from Piccadilly, the southernmost point of New Bond Street.
