Westminster Council has approved the plans for The Queensway Parade scheme in Bayswater, London W2.

The development, now known as The William, will deliver 11,000m2 of new office space and six floors of accommodation above the new retail and commercial units along the ground floor.

The scheme opposite The Whiteley London includes 32 new homes, of which 35% are affordable units.

The BREEAM Outstanding building designed by Foster + Partners is the next phase in the £3 billion redevelopment of Queensway.

The planning consultant for this scheme was Turley.

Marcus Meijer, Founder and CEO of MARK commented: “This is an exciting development that will not only contribute to the regeneration of Queensway alongside our work on The Whiteley, but underscores our ambition to bring the very best in design and construction to the area.

“Innovative in its design, materials and use of space, the development will deliver a first-in-class environment for those that use the building on a daily basis whilst also improving the neighbourhood experience for all that visit Queensway. This once-in-a-lifetime regeneration, will see Queensway reborn as a thriving new hub for London and it is extremely rewarding for us, personally, to be involved in two truly landmark projects located opposite to each other.”

Laurence Brooker, Head of Central London Planning at Turley, added: “This approval is a great result for Queensway. The mixed-use redevelopment will provide high-quality office space, new housing and provide new jobs in the area. Turley is pleased to have provided expert services on this project ensuring a positive result at committee.”

Work on the new development is expected to start in 2023 and is due to complete in 2026.
