Overview

Lower Essex Square is a new residential development by Galliard and Apsley JV located in the Southside district of central Birmingham B5.

The development will comprise 628 Build-to-Rent apartments, which include affordable housing, along with residents' amenity space and affordable community space.

The three buildings designed by Claridge Architects will be arranged around landscaped gardens, providing high-quality residential spaces. This development is the latest addition to the JV's commitment to Birmingham, aiming to deliver over 2,500 new homes in five years.

The plans include the demolition of existing buildings and the erection of new ones, including office premises for a local LGBT charity.

The 557,000 sq ft residential-led, mixed-use scheme will include 306 one-bedroom, 295 two-bedroom and 27 three-bedroom apartments for rent, with 20,000 sq ft of ground floor commercial and amenity space, across three separate buildings of 27, 12 and eight-storeys respectively.

The Lower Essex Square site will be operated by Outpost Management under its Enclave brand.
