The Green Quarter
Key Details
Overview
The Green Quarter is a residential-led development by Berkeley on 88 acres in Southall, London UB1.
The development will provide access to more green space than St James's Park and Green Park combined. Almost half of the 88-acre brownfield site is dedicated to open green space. The Green Quarter will feature 13 acres of parkland, including 8-acre wetlands designed in partnership with biodiversity experts at London Wildlife Trust.
New Build Homes
Studios, suites, 1, 2 and 3 bedroom apartments overlooking 90 acres of Country Park.
Marketing Suite address: 1 Randolph Road, Southall, London UB1 1BL.
A new village on the site of the Southall Gas Works featuring new homes, and 500,000 sq. ft. of purpose-built commercial and leisure space. The project will also create new social infrastructure, including a two-form entry primary school and health centre.
Berkeley’s development is one of the largest and most significant mixed-use residential schemes in London and will deliver some 3,750 new homes, along with landscaped parkland and community facilities. The project is expected to take 20-plus years to complete and includes 500,000 sq ft of commercial space, a new cinema, a two-form entry primary school, a health centre and a substantial amount of green outdoor space.
Berkeley is creating a series of footbridges to open up the neighbouring 90-acre Minet Country Park, enabling easy access for the whole community, while 1.2km of towpath along the Grand Union Canal has been reinstated to create a more attractive and enjoyable pedestrian and cycle route.
Four Neighbourhoods
Each neighbourhood at The Green Quarter will be created by different architects and landscape designers. Waterside, Greenlands, Parkside and Quarter Yard. Masterplan by JTP.
