Stronghold Climbing Centres takes 12,500 sq ft at Canal Place

Aitch Group has let a 12,500 sq ft unit at Canal Place to Stronghold Climbing Centres.

Canal Place is the commercial element in the canalside building at 1-3 Sheep Lane.

Set to be one of the largest indoor rock climbing centres in East London, the maximum wall height of 4m and 700m2 of actual climbing surface within the building, visitors of the centre at Canal Place can expect a beautiful new bouldering centre that will build on Stronghold’s years of experience at their centre in Tottenham Hale.

Piers Cook, Assistant Head of Asset and Property Management commented: “Aitch Group are pleased to announce the lease of the 12,500 sqft commercial unit to Stronghold Climbing Centres. The installation of one of the largest indoor climbing centres in East London will be a great asset to those at Canal Place and the surrounding community. We look forward to seeing it in action.”

Not only will there be hundreds of amazing climbs for complete beginners to elite level, but visitors can also expect an air-conditioned and temperature-controlled climbing area, a yoga studio, a full retail offering and a café overlooking Regent’s Canal.

Aitch Group completed the construction of 40 residential units (WME8) and 32,000 sqft of commercial space in November 2020.

The building is situated in a prominent position overlooking the Regents Canal and moments away from Broadway Market.

They understood what kind of space we were searching for and how our plans for expansion would fit into their building.
