54 Marsh Wall
Key Details
Overview
54 Marsh Wall is a planned mixed-use residential led scheme in in London's Isle of Dogs E14.
The design by Rolfe Judd comprises 216 new homes which includes on-site affordable housing and much needed family sized units for the area. This features in two linked 16 and 41 storey buildings with café/retail space and enhanced community and play space.
The site is located in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets at 54 Marsh Wall, on the Isle of Dogs, and is fronting Marsh Wall to the north and Byng Street to the south. The site is a short walk to the DLR Heron Quay and South Quay station, providing great access to Canary Wharf, the City and wider East London.
Development on the site currently comprises a 3 storey, 1980s office building almost entirely covered in black painted glass, offering little or no architectural merit to the area. Similar buildings to this can be found on 56 and 58 Marsh Wall, all protected from the road by a lining of mature trees. Please find above a number of images detailing the site.
Planning application approved in January 2017.
Expected start by spring 2021.
