History
Ballards Lane Police Station was famous for investigating high profile cases during the Victorian and Edwardian eras such as the infamous Black-Hand Gang during Victorian times, the Finchley baby kidnappers Amelia Sach and Annie Walters in 1903 and the Tube train murders of 1939. The Metropolitan Police started operating in Finchley in 1873 with the Ballards Lane site first developed with a grand Victorian Police Station in 1886, then redeveloped with a modern police station in 1965. In 2017 the police station became outdated and was sold for redevelopment to Aitch Group with an upgraded police station located on the High Road in East Finchley covering the Finchley region.

2019 August - Planning permission from Barnet Council ref. no. 19/2079/FUL.
