2018 - The Government Property Unit relocate from Whitehall into 20 Cabot Square. The building will be home to around 5,700 civil and public servants by the end of 2018.

2016 - The government decides to lease the whole building, covering 50,354m2, for The Government Property Unit. The 15-year lease will end in 2032. The location of the East London Office Hub at Canary Wharf was chosen due to its exceptional public transport connections to the rest of London and the UK, which will further be enhanced by the opening of Crossrail, along with its significantly lower cost compared to other central London locations.
