Overview

41 Lothbury is a Grade II* Listed building in the City of London EC2.

Pembroke is refurbishing the building to the designs of Stiff + Trevillion to increase the office floor space, improve the user experience of the building and expand the appeal to tenants.

The iconic banking hall is brought into the 21st Century through the creation of flexible break-out spaces, enhanced by a Jason Bruges light installation. Other amenities will include new end-of-trip facilities.

The refurbishment of 41 Lothbury will be a prime example of working within an existing building structure and reusing existing materials to enhance an office asset and reduce carbon emissions. 41 Lothbury will be an all-electric building with energy provided through air-sourced heat pumps allowing the building to achieve NABERS accreditation and contribute to Pembroke’s objective to be Net Carbon Zero by 2035. 41 Lothbury also hopes to secure a BREEAM Excellent rating and Platinum Wired Score.

The new 8th floor will feature a shared rooftop terrace area for all tenants offering spectacular views of the City of London.

History

Originally built in 1923-31 for the London & Westminster Bank to the designs of architects Charles Mewès and Arthur Joseph Davis, who had previously done The Ritz Hotel London and the Royal Automobile Club building on Pall Mall.

Pembroke acquired the site in 2010.

Historic England List Entry Number: 1079136. Date first listed: 10.11.1977
