London Retail Street Vacancies: Queensway

Written on .

A wave of shops could be on the financial rack this Friday, when quarterly rents for commercial property are traditionally paid, reports the Guardian. Many high-profile firms such as Whittard of Chelsea and Zavvi went into administration shortly after “quarter day”, which falls in late March, June, September and December.

Our new blog series London Retail Street Vacancies takes a quick look at the busiest shopping streets in London, pointing out some premises that are currently available to let.

We start with the ever-busy Queensway in Bayswater, West London W2. The street north of Kensington Gardens is best known for its many restaurants, city’s largest ice-rink and the grand Whiteleys shopping centre. Altogether there are approximately 300 traders on the street.

There are two underground stations on the street (Queensway and Bayswater) and it is only a 10 minute walk away from Portobello Market in Notting Hill and Paddington railway station.
