This building in the heart of Mayfair was once well known to the General of the Army Dwight D. Eisenhower during the Second World War when Grosvenor Square was the nerve center of the American Armed Forces in Great Britain. The square was nicknamed “Eisenhower Platz” by the G.I.-s.
